Thankful

November 8, 2017 by Brooke Leave a Comment

November is a month for giving thanks, and I’ve always wanted to carve out time to capture what I’m thankful for each day…but for whatever reason, I’ve not been very good at putting pen to paper. Until now.

My goal for this month is to write down what I’m thankful for each day and share my thoughts with you each week throughout this month. I decided daily posting was probably too much for me to handle right now, so I’m collecting my thoughts for a full week at a time and will be posting weekly throughout the month.

I love asking Dave at the end of the day what his favorite thing is that happened from that day. It’s something I’ve done for awhile now, not necessarily every day, but often. Usually when we’re drifting off to sleep. I think it’s a great way to see the good even on difficult days, so who knows – maybe I’ll keep going by jotting down my thoughts after this month too.

Week 1

Today I am thankful for :

1: vibrant fall colors. On the road for work today and the view out the window kept me going while on the long drive. I grew up in south Florida, the land of perpetual summer, so fall leaves are really something special, if you ask me

2: family lending a helping hand with a sick baby so I can still get some work done

3: a date with my love

4: a family nap snuggled in bed. I so rarely nap, this was a real treat for me, especially with my two favorite people next to me (and in bun’s case, in my arms)

5: that amazing baby smell – fresh, soft, milk breath, and snuggles; also, waking up to fresh air this morning

6: a beautiful sunset in muted purples, blush, gold was so peaceful during my drive home from work tonight

7: something about this misty, gray day gave me warm fuzzies and cozy fall feelings. I just soaked in the moodiness today. So yes, I’m thankful for the gray drizzly day which made the fall colors stand out in contrast
