This easy homemade monster trail mix is the perfect blend of sweet and a little bit salty. Grab this snack mix when you’re craving both sweet and salty foods with a little crunch.

This monster trail mix is my go-to snack lately especially when I want something a little salty and a little sweet.

Are you a sweet or a salty snacker? I have the fortune (?) of being both, and I’ll often find myself needing to balance a salty snack with something sweet. Truth be told, I’ll probably alternate the two a few times until I’m done snacking.

Which brings me to this trail mix. I recently was all set to buy another container of a similar trail mix when I realized I had just about all of the ingredients at home. So instead I just bought a bag of M&Ms and mixed up the rest of this monster trail mix.

I like a little salt in my trail mix, but not too much, which is why I use a mix of unsalted roasted peanuts with lightly salted roasted peanuts. For me it’s the perfect level of saltiness without being too overpowering.

This monster trail mix is super easy to put together – you literally just measure and mix everything together. It takes about 5 minutes (plus any additional time you spend popping M&Ms into your mouth while measuring) before you’re ready to snack.

How To Store Homemade Trail Mix

  • Store homemade trail mix in an airtight container

I like to store my mix in a small jar with a rubber seal – this keeps it fresh for several weeks – that is if it lasts that long!
